Raised in Stone Mountain, GA, this Georgia Peach got her start with the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta (Y.E.A.). A good place for a young Black performer to find arts activism and build stamina within original work. Pursuing higher education led her to Florida. A place where leaving whole meant leaving with two degrees and an intent to do something with them. You can find her in Philly.

Imani has cultivated her artistry within many expressions of storytelling. West African dance, musical theatre, improvisational comedy, devising, voice acting, hosting showcases and fundraising events, modeling, hand to hand & single-sword combat, and Shakespeare. These days Imani can even be found retwisting locs, teaching young artists, and preparing for winter.

Imani is welcoming the summer while reminding Philadelphians that "heat is heat" and even a former Floridian will sweat in a heat wave.
“…Simone (a strong Imani Lee Williams, who nicely underplays the role to contrast their over-the-top family members...she plays Abbot to their Costello).” - Peter Nason
“Imani Lee Williams’s portrayal of Emma is brilliant, bringing a nuanced and complex understanding to a character often reduced to a single archetype.” - A. Lewis
“…Williams' raw, powerful performances will stick with you long after the house lights come up. Especially that unforgettable ending with Elizabeth looking out the window — damn. I’m still haunted by that one.” - Charles Runnells
Performed 2023 Sarasota Contemporary Dance: In-Studio Series
