Dedication to Story and all who inhabit it
Dedication to Story and all who inhabit it
Raised in Stone Mountain, GA, this Georgia Peach got her start with the Youth Ensemble of Atlanta (Y.E.A.). A good place for a young Black performer to find arts activism and build stamina within original work. Pursuing higher education led her to Florida. A place where leaving whole meant leaving with two degrees and an intent to do something with them. You can find her in Philly.
Imani has cultivated many expressions of storytelling. West African dance infused musical theatre, Improvisational Comedy, devising, voice acting, hosting showcases and fundraising events, modeling, hand to hand & single-sword combat, and Shakespeare. These days Imani can even be found retwisting locs, teaching young artists, and preparing for winter.
Imani is excited to be back at Quintessence Theatre for the World Premier of Wallace Thurman’s FIRE!! written and adapted by Marilyn Campbell-Lowe and Paul Oakley Stovall.
